Insofar as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is concerned:

  • On October 20, 2022, 1,551 IRCC employees were on approved leave regardless of the amount of leave taken. This includes 857 on annual leave, 440 on sick leave, 140 on family related leave, 75 on other types of leave, 27 on personal leave, and 12 on compensatory leave.
  • Since January 1, 2022, by month and regardless of the amount of leave taken, 317 IRCC employees took 699 leave in January, 128 in February, 80 in March, 75 in April, 382 in May, 77 in June, 77 in July, 41 in August, 72 in September, and 45 in October. This data includes employees who might have taken 699 in more than one month, or their 699 leave might have spanned more than one month (therefore counted in both months).

IRB’s response to Part A of the question is included in Annex A. The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat will respond to Part B of the question on behalf of the IRB.
