Key Messages

  • Funding of $88M is being sought by IRCC through the Supplementary Estimates (B) for CUAET.

This funding will be used to extend facilitation at the port-of-entry as well as in-Canada processing until March 31, 2024, and to support the Canada-Ukraine Transitional Assistance Initiative (CUTAI).

Supplementary Information

  • Budget 2023 provided $171.4M (including $22.4M for Forgone Revenue) over two years starting in 2023-2024 to extend the CUAET.
  • Incremental funding of $288.3M over two years beginning in 2022-2023, sourced from an off-cycle funding decision, was approved in December 2022 for the CUTAI.
  • Previous funding decisions provided, to IRCC and partners, a total of $641.6M over 10 years which was accessed through the “Funding for Special Immigration Measures for Ukrainian Nationals” Treasury Board Submission.
