Program delivery update: Permanent residence pathways for Hong Kong residents: Assessing the application against the public policy eligibility requirements

The instructions for calculating work experience for the permanent residence pathways for Hong Kong residents have been amended. For Stream B applicants, the principal applicant now must have:

  • accumulated at least 1,560 hours of authorized Canadian work experience through paid full-time or part-time work at any skill level within the three years before the application for permanent residence was received; and
  • held a Canadian work permit for a minimum of 1 year in the three years before the application for permanent residence was received.
