As a result of the new public policy, open work permits are now available to Hong Kong nationals who have applied for permanent residence. This public policy exempts Hong Kong nationals from the requirements of paragraph R200(1)(c).
Revised instructions for officers issuing open work permits for Hong Kong recent graduates have also been published, and the LMIA exemptions page has been updated to include these changes.
