Program delivery update: Temporary Special Measures to Support Iranian Nationals

These operational instructions include processing instructions related to temporary special measures to support Iranian temporary residents in Canada who came to Canada to visit or spend time with family, study, or work temporarily and wish to prolong their stay. The measures also provide travel document fee waivers for Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents who reside in Iran to help facilitate their travel.
These special measures take effect retroactively from February 9, 2022 until February 28, 2024. These special measures include priority processing and fee waivers under the Temporary Resident lines of business and fee waivers for Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents.
