Section C, “Changing institutions or changing programs of study at the same institution”, specifies the conditions under which a student engaging in post-secondary studies in Canada is authorized to change institutions or programs of study within the same institution.
A clarification has been made to reiterate to officers that students must notify IRCC and apply for a new study permit if they change their designated learning institution (DLI) before travelling to Canada.
In circumstances where a foreign national arrives at the port of entry with a letter of acceptance from a different DLI, the decision to review the foreign national’s study permit is at the discretion of the border services officer.
