The instructions relating to all the labour market impact assessment exemptions under work designated by the minister as per paragraph R205(c )(ii) – administrative codes C41, C42, C43, C44 and C45 have been reformatted to individual pages for each administrative code with an overview page.

In addition, the following changes are important:

• the pages have been updated to the NOC 2021 language
• dependent children are now included, not just spouses or common-law partners
• new administrative codes have been added for
  • dependent children of high-skilled workers
  • family members of low-skilled workers
  • family members of economic PR applicants
  • academic award recipients

New instructions

• Family members of foreign nationals authorized to work in high-skilled occupations (TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3) [R205(c)(ii) – C41 and C46]
• Family members of foreign nationals authorized to work in low-skilled occupations (TEER 4 or 5) [R205(c)(ii) – C47 and C48]
• Family members of work permit holders who are Economic Class permanent resident applicants or were nominated or selected by a province [R205(c)(ii) – C49]
• Spouses and common-law partners of study permit holders [R205(c)(ii) – C42]
• Post-doctoral fellows awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) [R205(c)(ii) – C44]
• Foreign medical (or dental) residents and medical research fellows [R205(c)(ii) – C45]
• Academic award recipients for research work [R205(c)(ii) – C52]
