Program delivery update: Study permits: Working on campus

This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by IRCC staff. It is posted on the department’s website as a courtesy to stakeholders.

March 1, 2022

The instructions have been updated to include that students who perform on-campus work as research or teaching assistants at facilities located off campus (but who are still considered to be working on campus), and who have not submitted to an immigration medical exam (IME) as part of their study permit application, will be required to undergo one if their on-campus work will be in a hospital or any other location where the protection of public health is essential.

A section regarding work authorization for full-time students with a part-time course load in their final academic session has also been added.
