Updates were made to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) instructions as a result of the implementation of the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
The main changes to the NAFTA instructions are
- As of July 1, 2020, NAFTA has been superseded by CUSMA; however, the Temporary Entry for Business Persons chapter remains unchanged. The only change in this chapter is the name; therefore, officers should process applications in the same manner as before.
- The NAFTA instructions will be archived; officers should refer now to the CUSMA instructions.
