The instructions on bilingualism at citizenship ceremonies have been updated to improve clarity and to consolidate the information on a new page.

The instructions now provide the following information:

  • how to communicate with candidates for citizenship and members of the public
  • an explanation of the various ceremony language formats: bilingual, predominately English and predominately French
  • how to determine the ceremony language format
  • helpful checklists for planning bilingual ceremonies
