Upfront medical examinations are no longer available for family class applicants

The update reflects changes to the use of upfront medical examinations for permanent residence application categories. Upfront medical examinations are no longer available for family class applicants and remain available only to Express Entry applicants in the permanent residence lines of business.

Previous text:

  • Upfront medical examinations are available for the following immigration classes:
    • Temporary residents:
      • Students;
      • Workers;
      • Visitors.
    • Permanent Residents:
      • Family (EDE) – spouses, common law partners, conjugal partners and dependent children.

New text:

  • Upfront medical examinations are available for the following immigration classes:
