Update to the instructions on the International Mobility Program concerning employer-specific work permits with Labour Market Impact Assessment exemptions

Summary

Following the announcement of regulatory changes in February 2015, the Employer Portal will be launched on October 26, 2015. The Employer Portal replaces the email submission method of the Offer of Employment to a Foreign National Exempt from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) form [IMM 5802]. It also allows employers under the International Mobility Program to pay for the employer compliance fee.

The processing instructions have been updated to inform officers about the actions to take when an employer-specific, LMIA-exempt work permit application is received.

Officers should familiarize themselves with the important coding changes included in these instructions.
