Update to instructions on the cumulative duration rule

Summary

The instructions relating to the cumulative duration rule (four-year maximum) have been reformatted and OB 523 is expired. Work permit processing officers should be familiar with these instructions because they must consider certain applicants’ total cumulative time worked in Canada since April 1, 2011, when determining the duration of a work permit.

New instructions

  • Temporary Foreign Worker Program: Cumulative duration (four-year maximum)
