Pathway to permanent residence: Family reunification for Ukrainian nationals – Receiving the application

Intake

Applications made under the temporary public policy shall be submitted via the Permanent Residence Portal on the IRCC website.

If applicants are unable to apply online due to a disability and require an accommodation, they have the option to request the application in another format (paper, braille or large print).

This public policy will be in effect from October 23, 2023 until October 22, 2024, inclusively. Applications must be received on or before the date the public policy expires.

Application date

The received and lock-in date is when the applicant submits an application via the portal or alternative format.

Requirements for submitting an application

Applicants are required to submit their application online, including all mandatory forms, information and fees as follows:

  1. Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008E (PDF, 652 KB)]
  2. Schedule A – Background/Declaration [IMM 5669 (PDF, 776.39 KB)]
  3. Additional Family Information [IMM 5406 (PDF, 570 KB)]
  4. Use of a Representative [IMM 5476 (PDF, 648.31 KB)], if applicable
  5. Authority to Release Personal Information to a Designated individual (PDF, 2.17 MB), if applicable
  6. Statutory Declaration Attesting to the Relationship Between the Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and the Ukrainian Foreign National [IMM 0191] (PDF)
  7. Photocopies of the principal applicant and their accompanying family members’ passports or travel documents

As per the Document Checklist [IMM 0190] (PDF), all other supporting documents can be requested at a later stage during the processing of the application. Applications should not be returned if supporting documents are missing.

IRCC will send an automatic acknowledgment of receipt to the applicant once the application is created in the Global Case Management System (GCMS).

Fees

Applicants are required to pay the following fees:

  • application processing fee
  • biometrics fee, including maximum fee for a family

Applicants are required to pay the right of permanent residence fee (RPRF), which must be paid before they become permanent residents, but does not need to be submitted upfront with their application.
