Implants and prosthetics
Medical device implants and prosthetics (devices that replace or provide support for missing body parts) are placed inside or on the surface of the body. Different types of implants or prosthetics may deliver medication, monitor body functions or provide support to tissues or organs. Some implants or prosthetics are meant to be permanent. Others are temporary and are meant to be removed when they're no longer needed or will need to be replaced after a certain period of time.
