Notice of Compliance (NOC) Database

A Notice of Compliance (NOC) is issued to a manufacturer following the satisfactory review of a submission for a new drug, and signifies compliance with the Food and Drug Regulations.

The database is updated nightly and contains NOC information on human drugs from January 1, 1994 to date. It also contains NOC information on Veterinary drugs from September 19, 2000 to date. Through a phased in approach Health Canada will populate the remaining NOCs for Veterinary drugs from January 1, 1994 to September 18, 2000.

The Search Tips describes how to perform searches effectively by using the following fields: Brand/Product Name, Drug Identification Number (DIN), NOC with Conditions, Medicinal Ingredient, Manufacturer, Submission Class, Therapeutic Class, Product Type and NOC Date. For definitions of these fields and other terms used in this database see the NOC Database Terminology section.

The Frequently Asked Questions section is intended to provide clarification to users on search and content issues.

The Notice of Compliance (NOC) Extracts are a series of compressed ASCII text files of the database.
