ARCHIVED - Information Note: Pesticide Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

Dear employees and employers,

The Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) wishes to inform you that a majority of pesticide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) is readily available from pesticide manufacturers on a voluntary basis. Please contact manufacturers or consult their websites to obtain MSDSs. MSDSs contain information on the properties and potential hazards of the material, how to use it safely, and what to do if there is an emergency. For more information regarding MSDSs, please consult the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety website.

A legislative initiative is underway to make the provision of these MSDSs to workplaces mandatory. Please consult regularly the PMRA website for updates on this initiative.
