Introduction to use-site categories (USCs) and data-code (DACO) tables
Data required to support an application to register, amend or conduct research with a pest control product depends on the nature of the product, for example, chemicals, microbials or Importation for Manufacturing and Export Program (IMEP), and the purpose of the submission.
As a guide for determining data requirements and submission categories, possible uses have been grouped into a series of use-site categories (USCs). Refer to Use-Site Category (USC) Definitions for Pest Control Products.
Each USC has a list of required and conditionally required data called data-code or DACO tables. DACO tables for specific USCs are available from Health Canada upon request. These DACO tables were developed from existing guidelines and practices and do not establish new data requirements.
The USC DACO tables for conventional chemical pest control products are located under Use-Site Category (DACO tables) for Conventional Pest Control Products. Refer to Data-Code (DACO) tables for conventional pest control products by use-site category (USC).
For microbial, pheromone/semiochemical and non-conventional chemical pest control products, consult Health Canada to obtain a list of data requirements.
Crosswalk
The comparative PMRA (DACO), USEPA (OPPTS and OPP) and OECD (IIA) data numbering systems are provided as a crosswalk. Four crosswalks are available:
