Consultation on Closer Insecticide, containing sulfoxaflor, Proposed Registration Decision PRD2026-11
Current status: Open
Opened on 2 September 2026 and will close for consultation on 2 October 2026.
Health Canada is proposing registration for the sale and use of Closer Insecticide, containing the technical grade active ingredient sulfoxaflor, to control aphids on greenhouse ornamentals (use-site category 6: greenhouse non-food crops) and balsam woolly adelgid on field-grown fir trees, including Christmas trees (use-site category 4: forest and woodlots).
An evaluation of available scientific information found that, under the approved conditions of use, the health and environmental risks and the value of the pest control product is acceptable.
