Human health in a changing climate: Science assessment 2022
Health Canada is preparing the Health of Canadians in a Changing Climate: Advancing our Knowledge for Action report. This report includes a scientific assessment of how climate change affects human health.
The primary goals of the science assessment are to:
- assess the risks of climate change to the health of people in Canada and to the health care system
- support adaptation actions by health decision makers at local, provincial/territorial and national levels
- support health authorities, emergency management officials, research and community organizations, and people in Canada to prepare for the impacts of climate change
This report is part of the national assessment process, Canada in a Changing Climate: Advancing our Knowledge for Action. Natural Resources Canada is leading this process. This national assessment process will:
- highlight the impacts of a changing climate on our communities, environment and economy
- discuss how we are adapting to these changes
- deliver a series of online reports
Environment and Climate Change Canada and Natural Resources Canada have released the first 2 reports, Canada’s Changing Climate Report, and National Issues Report. We will release more reports on regional impacts, adaptation and climate resilience, including reports on:
- regional perspectives
- Indigenous perspectives
- the Health of Canadians in a Changing Climate
