The Chemicals Management Plan Stakeholder Advisory Council is a multi-stakeholder group that contributes to the implementation of the Chemicals Management Plan (CMP). The purpose of the Council is to provide stakeholders the opportunity to offer advice and input to Government on the implementation of the CMP, and to foster dialogue on issues pertaining to the CMP between stakeholders and government, and among different stakeholder groups. Issues may include risk assessment, risk management, risk communications, monitoring, research, indicators of success, chemical policy, and other cross-cutting, integrated activities across the CMP. The group holds a minimum of two meetings per year. Its current mandate is from April 2016 until March 31, 2021. Members represent National Aboriginal organizations, Consumer groups, Environment Non-Government Organizations, Health Non-Government Organizations and Industry (including associations, producers, users with a specific focus on downstream industry).

The Stakeholder Advisory Council for the first and second phases of the CMP are now concluded. View the Meeting Summary Reports for the first two phases. Other related materials such as the lists of members and terms of reference for the first and second phases are available upon request. Please contact chemicalsubstanceschimiques@hc-sc.gc.ca.
