This consultation ran from July 25 to September 23, 2024.
Health Canada consulted stakeholders on updates we made to the:
- List of recognized standards for medical devices
- Guidance on using standards to support compliance with the Medical Device Regulations
Who was the focus of this consultation
The Government of Canada engaged with:
- medical device manufacturers
- regulatory affairs representatives in the field of medical devices
- health care professionals
Key questions for discussion
We sought input on the overall content of the updated list of recognized standards for medical devices and the draft guidance.
Ideas and input were sought around the following questions:
- Are the list and guidance clear and easily understood?
- Are there any concepts or principles missing from the guidance?
- Are there any items in the list that should be added, removed or updated?
The input that was gathered through this process will be used to finalize the list and the guidance document.
