Opportunity: Governing Council CIHR

Hi I'm Jane Philpott, Canada's Minister of Health, and I want to share with you an exciting and important opportunity.

The Government of Canada is currently seeking applications from diverse and talented Canadians from across the country who are interested in becoming members of the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, or CIHR as it is commonly known by.

CIHR is Canada's federal funding agency for health research.

As a member of its Governing Council, you will have an opportunity to help set CIHR's strategic directions, goals and policies; evaluate its performance; and manage its budget.

Most importantly, you will have a chance to help shape research that changes lives. Research that helps me and my colleagues in the provinces and territories fulfill our mandates of strengthening our publicly funded, universal health care system and to meet the challenges and opportunities that the future will bring.
