Protein content is an important quality factor for grain producers and exporters, impacting both the functionality and marketability of grain. The Canadian Grain Commission offers a proficiency testing program for laboratories performing protein content analysis.
Two types of protein proficiency tests are available:
one sample of Canada Western Red Spring wheat or Canada Western Amber Durum wheat, weighing a minimum of 500 grams, every two months for 12 months
a notification email when a proficiency test sample is shipped that includes information on the deadline for submitting results
a confidential and unique laboratory code
a form for the submission of results
a final report with their results and a statistical analysis of all participants’ results
A subscription runs from April 1 to March 31 each year and clients will be invoiced in April. The cost will be prorated if a client enrols later in the fiscal year.
