Management of Security Incidents

To provide timely and efficient management of incidents, an incident management program must have supporting services and activities, and strategic leadership in place to ensure informed decision making.  This page offers contacts where incidents can be reported or guidance obtained:

Cyber Security Incident

The Government of Canada Cyber Security Event Management Plan (GC CSEMP) provides an operational framework for the management of cyber security events (including cyber threats, vulnerabilities or security incidents) that impact or threaten to impact the GC’s ability to deliver programs and services to Canadians. 

All cyber security incidents within the scope of the GC CSEMP must be reported to the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security.

Threat to National Security (RCMP and CSIS)

To report an immediate threat to national security, contact:

Suspected Criminal Activities (RCMP)

The National Operations Centre (NOC) for suspected criminal activities a 24/7 service, (reports or calls may
be redirected to local law enforcement organizations as appropriate).

The Technological Crime Branch provides specialized technical investigative support services including: computer search, seizure and forensic analysis; centralized contact liaison; coordination and assistance in the investigation of interprovincial and international technological crimes; also includes investigating cyber-threats and/or criminal activity on computer networks, which could have the potential to threaten one of Canada’s critical infrastructures.
