Clear Cut System - Compartment 41

Clear cutting leads to the establishment of an even-aged forest. This is not an operational practice in tolerant hardwood stands in Algoma. This experimental treatment is included to allow for examination of maximum impacts of canopy removal and site disturbance.

Prescription:
Fell and remove all overstory trees >20 cm DBH (delimbing at the stump)
Fell trees >10 cm DBH (no removal)
