Alternative measures agreements

Section 111 of the Species at Risk Act, allows the Attorney General to enter into an alternative measures agreement, after consultation with the competent minister. This type of agreement allows for the provision of alternative measures to deal with persons alleged to have committed offences, but only if it is consistent with the purposes of the Act. Under the agreement, the Attorney General must file a report relating to the administration and compliance with that agreement.
