NPRI data

Thousands of facilities located across the country report to the NPRI each year. We make this data available for public use on this page. Use cases include:

• members of the public can use it to track pollutants in their own neighbourhoods
• researchers can use it to monitor changes to air and water quality
• governments can use it to help set up environmental policies

We have packaged the data in different ways for different uses.  You can search the entire database, download subsets of data, or view the data on maps. You can use the descriptions below to select the search option that best suits your needs.

Search NPRI data

Use our National Pollutant Release Inventory data search tool for reviewed 1993 to 2024 data, and preliminary 2025 data. Search by pollutant, industry, province or territory, or watershed to find the data that most affects you and your community. It includes:

• predefined queries and advanced searches to view NPRI data in tables
• pollution prevention activities
• links to other datasets for facilities that also report to the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP)
• links to other datasets for facilities that also report to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) on radionuclides

Use our National Pollutant Release Inventory Dashboard for reviewed 2015 to 2024 data, and preliminary 2025 data. Search by pollutant, facility, location, sector, or substance, and view NPRI data in both visual and table formats. The dashboard also includes a summary of pollution prevention activities reported by facilities.
