Sisson Mine Project: closed consultation

The Government of Canada sought public comments on proposed amendments to the Metal and Diamond Mining Effluent Regulations for the Sisson Mine Project.

• The Sisson Partnership (Proponent) is proposing to develop an open pit tungsten and molybdenum mine located approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Fredericton, New Brunswick.
• The objective of the amendments is to authorize the storage of tailings and waste rock in two water bodies frequented by fish.
• To offset the loss of fish and fish habitat due to the Project, the Proponent is required to develop and implement a Fish Habitat Compensation Plan.
