Pulp and paper technical guidance: questions and answers to assist mills, chapter 9

What if a mill has confirmed effects in one component but has confirmed no effects in another component?

The biological monitoring required for each component can be conducted independently. For example, if a mill has confirmed no effects in the benthic invertebrate community component, the next interpretive report for the benthic component would be required 6 years after the day on which the most recent interpretive report for benthos was required to be submitted. If this same mill has confirmed effects in the fish population component, the next interpretive report for the fish component would be required 3 years after the day on which the most recent interpretive report for fish was required to be submitted.
