Aluminum chloride, aluminum nitrate and aluminum sulphate

A Draft Report has been completed for aluminum chloride, aluminum nitrate and aluminum sulphate. With respect to human health, owing to the considerable limitations of the available data on effects of aluminum chloride, aluminum nitrate and aluminum sulphate, a definitive conclusion of "toxic" or not "toxic" could not be reached. Therefore, the five year timeframe mandated within CEPA 1999 for assessment of Priority Substances is suspended for a period of six years to collect necessary data on the potential association between exposure to aluminum salts in the environment and Alzheimer's disease.

Notice concerning the suspension of this substance has been published in the Canada Gazette, Part I on December 2, 2000.
