6.0 Recovery of penalties

Instructions on how to pay the penalty, where to send payment andacceptable payment options are included in the Notice of Violation.  Subsection 27(3) of EVAMPA specifies that all penalties received by the Receiver General in payment of an AMP are to be credited to the Environmental Damages Fund. Violators will be contacted by ECCC’s Finance Branch for payment of penalties not received within 30 days.

Interest will be charged on overdue accounts from the 31st day of the invoice date, compounded monthly, at the average Bank of Canada rate for the preceding month, plus 3%.
