Summary of comments received: Nova Scotia equivalency agreement on greenhouse gas emissions

On September 15, 2012 the Minister made available, through a notice published in Canada Gazette, Part I, the Agreement on the Equivalency of Federal and Nova Scotia Regulations for the Control of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Electricity Producers in Nova Scotia (the Agreement) launching a 60 public comment period.

Two comments were received, both from industry stakeholders.  Commenters relayed strong support for the Agreement and welcomed equivalency agreements as a way to meet policy goals and avoid conflicts and duplication with provincial regulations. No changes to the Agreement were raised in any submissions.
