Section 1: Applicability

This Environnent Canada Reference Method (RM) is used to determine the concentration of gaseous hydrogen chloride (HCl) in enclosed gas streams of stationary sources. The procedures contained in the Environment Canada Report EPS 1-AP-74-1 and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Test Methods D4327-84 and D512-81 are to be used in conjunction with the gaseous hydrogen chloride method (1)(2)(3).
