Appendix 2: Phases and Products Chart for the NSN Regulations Consultations

A Discussion Document was drafted in November 1999, during the preparation phase for the Multistakeholder Consultations on amending the New Substances Notification Regulations and the New Substances Program. The consultations concluded in August 2001 and the Final Consultation Report was released in May 2002. Work was done on the Environment Canada/Health Canada Response Document from December 2001 to March 2002. The Response document is expected to be released in Fall 2002. The Action Plan for pursuing the implementation of the consultation recommendations will be prepared by Fall 2002. The implementation phase of the consultation recommendations is ongoing. Revised Regulations will be available by 2004-2005. Amendments to the Program and publicly reporting on the progress of implementation of the recommendations are ongoing.
