Amendment of the Export and Import of Hazardous Wastes Regulations

A first round of stakeholder consultations on planned amendments to the Export and Import of Hazardous Wastes Regulations took place in Moncton, Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver in March 2001. This paper is the consultant's summary of these discussions. Based on this input as well as comments received after the workshops, Environment Canada is preparing a more detailed paper on proposed amendments. This paper will be used as a basis for discussion during the next round of consultations, expected in December 2001. It is anticipated that the amendments will be ready for publication in Canada Gazette, Part I, in December 2002
