2 Stationary Sources of Combustion and Limits of Sulphur Dioxide and Total Particulate Matter Air Emissions for the Pulp and Paper Sector
The sources of SO2 and TPM air emissions in the pulp and paper sector considered in this Code of Practice are as follows:
- Boiler
- Recovery boiler
- Dissolving tank
- Lime kiln
- Thermal oxidizer
- Other stationary sources of combustion
A description of each emission source can be found in Section 5, Definitions.
The total SO2 and TPM emissions from these sources for a pulp and paper mill should not exceed the annual air emission limits outlined in Appendix 1; these limits were agreed upon by the Expert Group in December 2011 and approved by the CCME in October 2012.
