Introduction
The Government of Saskatchewan in its 2022 to 2023 budget has announced its intention to cancel the Saskatchewan Advantage Grant for Education Savings (SAGES). Subscribers are no longer able to apply for SAGES.
8.1. SAGES cancellation – Key dates
Here are the key dates relating to the cancellation of the SAGES:
- August 31, 2023: Final cut-off date for Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) promoters to process any SAGES transactions
- September 6, 2023: Final cut-off date for RESP promoters to submit any SAGES transactions to the Canada Education Savings Program (CESP) system
- September 1, 2023: Final cut-off date for promoters to have converted all SAGES held in RESPs into accumulated income
- October 1, 2023: SAGES transactions sent to the CESP processing system will be rejected
