Purpose
The purpose of this information bulletin is to remind Promoters and Trustees that the Regulations Amending the Canada Education Savings Regulations, as well as the EAP formulae for the SAGES and BCTESG are coming into force on September 1, 2019.
Background
The Regulations Amending the Canada Education Savings Regulations have been made and were published in the Canada Gazette, Part II on December 26, 2018 (See the official pdf and non-official html versions).
As a result of these regulatory changes, the EAP formulae for the SAGES and BCTESG became misaligned. The provinces of Saskatchewan and British Columbia have decided to align their EAP formulae with the federal EAP formulae, through amendments to the Promoter and Trustee Agreements, which take effect on September 1, 2019.
Coming into force
As previously announced in Infobulletin #802, as of September 1, 2019, Promoters and Trustees are expected to administer all of the regulatory changes, as well as the modified SAGES and BCTESG formulae, as previously announced in Infobulletin #820 .
