Appoint a qualified person
Is there a likelihood that an asbestos hazard is present in your workplace?
- If you answer “Yes”, answer the following question:
Have you appointed a qualified person to carry out a hazard investigation?
- “Yes”
- If you answer “No”, make sure you appointed a qualified person as define below.
Qualified person
A qualified person possesses the knowledge, training and experience to fulfill the competencies of the role(s) defined in the regulations below. This role may need to be fulfilled by more than one qualified person with different fields of expertise.
Asbestos exposure prevention and control specialists or industrial hygienists knowledgeable in asbestos and asbestos hazards are examples of persons qualified to conduct the hazard investigation and the risk assessment.
