Union Training and Innovation Program – Infrastructure Expansion
This funding opportunity aims to strengthen Canada’s skilled trades workforce by expanding training capacity and modernizing union-led training infrastructure to increase training spaces. It will fund projects that upgrade training facilities, expand capacity, and invest in new infrastructure through renovations, expansions and construction of new training facilities.

- October 15, 2026, to November 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST)
- Funding amount:

Eligible organizations may request from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC):
- Eligible organizations may apply for a contribution from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) of: $3M for renovation projects
- $10M for expansion or new construction projects
- Project duration:
- Projects may be funded for up to 60 months
- Who can apply:
- Unions representing workers in the Red Seal trades
Organizations managing training trust funds for unions representing workers in the Red Seal trades
