Current Status of the small projects call for proposals: Closed
All applicants will receive an acknowledgement within 21 calendar days of submitting their application. Further to this acknowledgment, applicants will be notified of the status of their application within 90 days of the Call for Proposals (CFP) closing date of September 5, 2017.
Recipients must not start their projects until an agreement has been signed by a representative of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
Not all applications submitted under this CFP will be approved. Funding is limited and is subject to budget considerations of ESDC, and allocation of funds by Parliament.
Decisions are final and there is no appeal process.
Overview
The Union Training and Innovation Program (UTIP) supports the Government of Canada's commitment to strengthen union-based apprenticeship training, innovation and enhanced partnerships.
Funding for the UTIP program has two streams:
- Stream 1 supports cost-shared purchases of equipment and materials for training (union-led).
- Stream 2 supports innovative approaches to address challenges that limit apprenticeship outcomes (union involvement required).
The UTIP’s objective is to improve the quality of training in the trades to better support a skilled, inclusive, certified and productive trades workforce. It also aims to address barriers that prevent key groups, such as women and Indigenous people, from succeeding in the trades.
Eligibility criteria are further defined during calls for proposals.
