Subject: Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) income matching rates for 2023

Previous bulletin

This information bulletin updates the information bulletin CDSP/PCEI-2021/22-002-433 dated December 6, 2021.

Purpose

The purpose of this information bulletin is to inform issuers/agents of the new RDSP income matching rates for 2023.

2023 income matching rates

The Canada Revenue Agency has published the 2023 indexation adjustments for personal income tax and benefit amounts. Based on these published amounts, the income matching rates for Registered Disability Savings Plans (RDSP) for 2023 are as follows:

Table 1: 2023 income matching rates
Income level Income matching rate definition
$34,863 Phase out income” – The income level above which the annual amount of Canada Disability Savings Bond payable begins to decrease.
$53,359 First threshold” – The income level that, when reached or exceeded, the annual amount of Canada Disability Savings Bond payable is nil.
$106,717 Second threshold” – The income level that, when below or equal to, the matching grant will be 300% of the first $500 in contributions and 200% of the next $1,000 in contributions. When income is above this level, the matching grant will be 100% of the first $1,000 in contributions.

These income levels will be used when processing all transactions dated January 1, 2023 or later.

The following table lists the income threshold amounts for the current year and the previous 10 years, where carry forward payments of the Canada Disability Savings Grant and Bond may be made:
