In December 2022, amendments to Part III of the Canada Labour Code came into force, requiring employers in federally regulated industries to provide employees with up to 10 days of paid medical leave per year. To assess the impact of these changes, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) commissioned a survey of federally regulated employers:
Results from the 2022 Survey of Employees under Federal Jurisdiction (SEFJ)
The survey collects information from workers in federally regulated workplaces about their working conditions. The following seven reports cover the range of topics on which the survey collects information:
- a profile of employees working in federally regulated workplaces
- work hours, work schedule and flexible work arrangements
- wages, leaves and benefits
- collective bargaining
- workplace health and safety
