Airworthiness Review Board
The Airworthiness Review Board (ARB) is one of the two boards that govern the DND/CAF Airworthiness Program. The ARB has been established to manage the interface between the operational and technical airworthiness of all in-service aircraft types through annual reviews. The ARB is co-chaired by the Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA) and the Operational Airworthiness Authority (OAA).
The responsibilities of the ARB are:
- to co-ordinate and manage the interfaces between the operational, technical and investigative portions of the airworthiness program
- to inform the Airworthiness Authority (AA) on airworthiness matters
- to annually review, by fleet, the airworthiness status of each aircraft type
- to approve, as appropriate, the issue of the "release to service" for each aircraft type
- to call for and consider reports on airworthiness issues as it deems appropriate
- to recommend, where appropriate, any action required by the OAA, TAA and Airworthiness Investigative Authority (AIA)
The next ARB meeting is scheduled for 11 June 2026.
