Steps to doing Gender-based Analysis Plus

There are 5 steps to complete in the GBA Plus process, and it is important to consider the following across all steps: documentation, data and information, communication, and bias awareness (which includes, challenging assumptions).

At the core of the process is an analysis of intersectionality: Each step is informed by the impact of social identity factors interacting with each other, and with group membership, institutional power and systems of power.

  • Step 4 involves developing options
  • Step 5 involves implementation, monitoring and evaluation

At the core of the process is an analysis of intersectionality: Each Step is informed by the impact of social identity factors interacting with each other, groups membership, institutional power and systems of power.

Throughout, decisions at each Step must be documented, informed by data, communicated, and unbiased.
