Brigadier-General Jason Langelier joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1991 and was commissioned an Infantry officer in the Royal 22nd Regiment.
Brigadier-General Langelier’s service includes various command and staff assignments in Valcartier, Gagetown, Montreal, Ottawa and overseas. Most notably, he commanded the Canadian Army’s Tactics School from 2014 to 2016 and 2nd Canadian Division Support Group from 2020 to 2022. His past operational experience extends to six international operations, which includes serving in Croatia in 1993-94; in Bosnia in 1996-97; in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2007-08; in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2012-13; in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2018-19; and recently in Jerusalem 2025-2026.
Brigadier-General Langelier has held key staff positions in the areas of operations and administration at various tactical, operational, and strategic levels. This experience includes roles at the Infantry School, the headquarters of the 5th Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, the Army headquarters, within the Chief Professional Conduct and Culture, the Strategic Joint Staff, the United Nations, as well as in the executive offices of the Army Commander and the Chief of Defence Staff.
Brigadier-General Langelier is a graduate of the Land Force Technical Staff Program and the Canadian Forces College’s National Security Program in 2023 where he received the Generalissimo José-Maria Morelos Award as the program’s top military graduate. He holds three master's degrees, including one in Defence Studies, one in Public Administration, and one in Business Administration. He has been honored with four commendations, including one from the Deputy Minister and Chief of the Defence Staff, two from the Chief of the Defence Staff, and one from the Army Commander. Additionally, he has been awarded two Meritorious Service Medals and was appointed to the Order of Military Merit in 2017.
Promoted to his current rank in June 2023, Brigadier-General Langelier is returning from his deployment to Jerusalem, where he served since July 2025 as Deputy Coordinator of Operations and Support within the Office of the Security Coordinator and as Commander of Task Force Jerusalem under Operation PROTEUS, Canada’s contribution to the Middle East Peace Process.
All of his achievements have been made possible in large part due to the support and resilience of his spouse, Julie, and their six young adults who actively pursue their own dreams.
Chief Warrant Officer W.A. Arndt, CD
Formation Chief Warrant Officer of the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Group
Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Alex Arndt was born in Kitchener, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in September 1990 as a Reserve Infanteer with the Highland Fusiliers of Canada. In October 1992, he was given a component transfer to the Regular Force as a Communicator Research Operator. Upon completion of his initial training in June 1994 at the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE) in Kingston, Ontario, he began his first post at Canadian Forces Station Leitrim. His foray into Cyber Operations began in May 1999, after which he was posted to the Canadian Forces Information Operations Group (CFIOG) Information Protection Centre (IPC) in 2001, where he was promoted to Master Corporal. He was posted to the Canadian Forces Network Operations Centre (CFNOC), where he was promoted to Sergeant, from the unit’s stand up in September 2004 until 2007.
CWO Arndt was posted to the 21 Electronic Warfare Regiment in 2007 and subsequently deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. He posted back to CFNOC in 2010 and was promoted to Warrant Officer in 2011. He was posted to CFIOG Headquarters in 2014, then the Land Electronic Warfare Centre (LEWC) under Director Land Command and Information (DLCI) in 2015. During his time at the LEWC, he planned and executed several operational trials and evaluations in support of interoperability with Canada’s allies. Promoted to Master Warrant Officer (MWO) in December 2016, he returned to CFNOC, where he served as the B Squadron Sergeant Major until his promotion to CWO.
CWO Arndt converted to Cyber Operator in October 2017, becoming the first MWO in the occupation and the Senior Operator. Promoted to his current rank in May 2019, he served as the Senior Occupation Advisor for the Cyber Operator occupation until his appointment as the CFNOC Unit CWO, where he served from August 2019 until his appointment as the Communications & Electronics (C&E) Branch CWO position in July 2022. CWO Arndt served as the C&E Branch CWO until his appointment as the Digital Service Group CWO in June 2024, where he served until July 2025.
CWO moved to the Cadet Organization Administration and Training Service (COATS) on 1 August 2025, where he currently serves as the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Group Formation CWO.
CWO Arndt completed the Army Technical Warrant Officer Programme in 2014, earning the title of Master Gunner. He is married and has three sons.
