14-41 Annex D - Ammunition and Pellets
Cadet Administrative and Training Orders (CATOs)
General
1. This annex establishes the policy for the use of ammunition and pellets within the CCO.
2. This annex does not supersede any references or additional orders issued by NDHQ technical authorities with regard to the security, safe possession, employment or handling of ammunition.
3. Only ammunition issued by DND/CF is approved for use with the small-bore and large-bore rifles.
4. Only pellets issued by DND/CF are approved for use in the Air rifle.
5. Storage and transport of ammunition shall be in accordance with Annex B, Appendices 1 and 2.
Disposal of Brass
6. Brass shall be disposed of in accordance with the regional policies.
Disposal of Wasted Pellets
7. Wasted pellets shall be considered as contaminated/hazardous waste and disposed of as per local regulations.
