Use of Smart Glasses at Cadets & Junior Canadian Rangers Summer Training Locations

1. The personal safety and privacy of all personnel attending CJCR summer training remains a top priority.
2. Smart glasses (e.g., Ray-Ban Meta or similar wearable devices equipped with cameras and/or connectivity) have the capability to continuously capture and transmit data, presenting a significant privacy concern as individuals may be recorded without their knowledge or consent. Additionally, they create a risk that sensitive information may be unintentionally recorded or shared.
3. Accordingly, the use of smart glasses are not permitted at any CJCR summer training location.
4. Any individual arriving at a summer training location in possession of smart glasses will have these devices confiscated. The items will be returned to the individual’s home unit/location.
