Cold Weather Restriction: Introduction of General - Purpose Sleeping Bag System

1. Instruction Manual General Purpose Sleeping Bag System (GPSBS)

1. In collaboration with Director Soldier Systems Program Management, CJCR Gp has commenced the use of the new General-Purpose Sleeping Bag System (GPSBS) across the organization. A limited quantity is currently available for RCSUs to order from the nearest depot through the Defence Resource Management Information System. Regional allocation details and order procedures will be sent out by the J4 Team at CJCR HQ to Regional J4 Teams.
2. Adult staff are authorized to use GPSBS in temperatures up to -10°C. However, the GPSBS has not yet completed the validation testing for youth in extreme cold temperatures. Therefore, the GPSBS shall not be used for cadet training in temperatures below 0°C until further notice. An Extreme Cold Inner will be added to the GPSBS to rectify this deficiency in the future. Estimated time of arrival for this item is unknown at this point.
3. Due to current cold weather restrictions, the priority for the GPSBS should be for the Expedition Centres and Cadet Training Centres.
